Here is what we try to do with this calendar. We ask that no one submit their event to our calendar. We will scour all the available calendars. Then we will post events in the next three months and try to describe what kind of experience we think you will have at the event. Only run/walks that have real web sites with real information will be included. We have no idea why most events even bother being listed on area calendars, as once you click on the link often there is little or no information about the event. All comments on events are the opinions of Lewis George and Mellew Productions and they should treated as such.

Here are the events we see currently scheduled that we would reccomend this spring. We will not include any of Mellew events as you know about those if you have visited this site

St Paddy's Day Dash - March 15, 2008 - 5k
Two Rows Restaurant at Lovers & Greenville
I directed this event for a few years and it is one the few old time party runs left in existence. Once upon a time the web domain for this event was runandparty.com. Live music and may I say plenty of libations. Best of all, the world famous Greenville Avenue St Patrick's Day parade struts their zaniest shortly after the run is over. This draws over 3000 entrants each year so allow time to park.

Borden's Uptown Run & Trolley Walk - March 22, 2008 - 5k
Dallas, Texas
This event is one of the older running events. It benefits Special Olympics. They have done away with the 5-mile which was a long tradition here. It has a good party afterwards and features an elite event that you can watch

Heartbeat 5k - May 17, 2008 - 8:30 a.m. - Presbyterian Hospital - Dallas
This has been around for over 10 years and seems to be one of those events that is well-funded and no matter what will stay around. Always well run and features many free health checks for everyone courtesy of Presbyterian Hospital. Be prepared for a hilly course.

Heels and Hills Half Marathon - May 4, 2008 - Half, half relay, and 5k
William Square - Irving
This is a secoond year event produced by Paula Robertson. The main focus of this event is on women as you can tell by the name. However, men will be tolerated and welcome.
