At Mellew Productions, we create events that are not merely a run but entertain and create festive surroundings. We start each year off with The Texas Half. This is just a good old fashion winter time half marathon, but we have great finisher medals, long-sleeved shirts, and always catered food and drink. In March we feature The Lady of the Lake Relays. We like to think that this event promotes the idea that running can be a team sport. Add in entertainment and good food and the relays are a great time! Later in March we stage the most beautiful 10k run in Texas, The Tyler Azalea 10k. All the flowers and azaleas are in full bloom in Tyler Texas as we run through great old stately homes. You will swear you are running in a flower garden! No run smells this good! The first weekend in April features the The Big D Texas Marathon. This spring marathon and half marathon starts and ends at the Cotton Bowl in the historic Texas state fairgrounds. All the trees and flowers are in spring bloom. In May we provide an event that features Mom on Mother's Day weekend, The Mom Run. The Mom Run starts and ends at Parker Square in Flower Mound and is run mostly on paved trails through the park system. One of our Favorites is Dadfest. This is a family event that does not require attendance with your family. We always have a great time. Why not join us! The Hottest Half is our happy surprise. We thought this was a good time to run a half marathon in Texas and our attendees told us we were right by proving great attendace. We think we will have over 1500 at this event in 2010. This event features a half marathon and 10k with water stations every mile and a great summer celebration afterwards. The Vineyard Run is the only DFW event that starts and ends in an actual vineyard in Grapevine Texas. Jazz music, kilometer markers and wine tasting. Always a great and fun event. The Tyler Half in Tyler, Texas is an opportunity to run a challenging half marathon in the woods of East Texas. We start and end on the campus of UT Tyler. Half marathons in smaller towns are always more down home friendly and make for a fun event. Cowboys & Kids 5k starts and ends at the Mesquite Rodeo. You get the chance to run through the rodeo bulls after finishing your run. Our pre and post event activities take place in the rodeo arena. Each year we try to add at least one new event for your enjoyment. We are now working on 2010 & 2011!
